Nicole Livingstone OAM OLY is a renowned athlete, broadcaster and sport administrator.

Bio

As the General Manager of Women’s Football, Nicole led the evolution and strategic growth of the Australian Football League’s women’s competition known as ‘AFLW’. In seven years under Livingstone’s guidance, the league developed from eight foundation clubs to a complete competition with 18-teams and 540 professional players. This competition, and its development is considered a benchmark in the Australian sporting landscape.

Nicole knows how to win and lead, beginning her illustrious swimming career with the Australian Dolphins as a 13-year-old, she went on to represent her country for 12 years as one of Australia’s most successful backstrokers. Competing at three Olympic games, her final appearance in Atlanta as Team Captain, Nicole won three Olympic medals. Livingstone still holds the record for most consecutive wins at an Australian Championships with 10 successive wins in the 100m backstroke and broke a world record in the 200m backstroke (short course) in 1992.

Equally successful out of the pool, Livingstone transitioned to a stellar career in television and radio as a commentator and host for over 20 years.  Hosting Wide World of Sports with Max Walker, Swimming with Ray Warren, Surf Lifesaving with Darrel Eastlake and numerous Nine Network shows with co-host Eddie McGuire – Livingstone has held her own amongst some of the heavy weights of the media industry.  Hosting duties at the F1 Grand Prix, Commonwealth Games and Olympics, along with regular panel appearances on The Project show the depth of Nicole’s abilities

In 2024, Nicole will again line up at the Olympics, her 11th, for the International Olympic Committee’s host broadcaster, Olympic Broadcast, making her the voice of swimming around the world.

Nicole is passionate about women’s health, having founded Ovarian Cancer Australia in 2001 after the death of her mother, Elsie. Ovarian Cancer Australia is now the peak body for advocacy, support and care.

Her extensive background in television and deep understanding of sports enrich any occasion she hosts as an MC or delivers as a motivational keynote speaker. Her relentless drive to excel in all her endeavors, coupled with the lessons learned from her journey, deeply connect with both clients and audiences, establishing her as a genuine champion in every aspect.
