From Mundulla in South Australia's country town, Mitch Hinge is a big-bodied, athletic midfielder with the Adelaide Crows.
Hinge grew up on his 100 acre family farm in Mundulla, the second youngest of six children. After playing junior football for the Mundulla Tigers, Hinge became a boarder at Sacred Heart College to progress his football.
Hinge came to the Brisbane Lions via the 2017 Rookie Draft. He rose into draft contention after a big 2016 where he showcased his skill set in the National Under 18 Championships and All Stars Game, and played in Glenelg’s victorious SANFL Under 18 Premiership side.
At 190cm Hinge is a competitive left-footed utility and able to play across the ground, while also being exceptional one-on-one. Injuries in his first two years at the club kept Hinge on the sideline while many around him debuted, but his persistence and determination paid off as he made his debut for the Brisbane Lions in Round 9 of 2019.
Ahead of the 2021 season, Hinge returned home to South Australia and joined the Adelaide Crows.
