Tom was born and grew up in Darwin playing in the NT’s under 17 and 19 pathways team before moving to Adelaide.

Tom was a part of Australia’s 2014 Under 19 World Cup team and was awarded a rookie contract with South Australia. His strong for in Adelaide Premier cricket led him to getting picked in the One Day and Sheffield Shield team. His best season cam in the 2019/20 summer where he scored a his maiden century and also took his maiden First Class 5 wicket haul. Ahead of the 2020/21 season Tom decided a change of scenery would be good for him and he took up a 2 year contract with Tasmania
