Will Setterfield is a tall midfielder that is strong on the inside and outside of the contest and has the ability to hit the scoreboard consistently. The GWS Giants drafted Setterfield with the 5th selection in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft as an academy selection.
A persistent ankle injury delayed Setterfield start to his first year but consistent form in the NEAFL on return resulted in a debut against Richmond in round 17, 2017. Unfortunately a run of injuries begun from here when Setterfield suffered a concussion in his 2nd game which ended his debut season abruptly and then tore his ACL the following pre-season which ended his 2018 season before it even started.
Setterfield requested a trade back to Melbourne which would see him end up at the Carlton Football Club where he has had a full pre-season and showed his talents in the first two games of the year.
