A versatile defender with pace to burn, Will Hamill displayed his exciting array of attributes for the Crows in 8 matches in 2020.
Growing up on the Mornington Peninsula, Will’s football journey started with Balnarring Junior Football Club. His father Steve was a highly regarded player with Frankston in the VFA during the 1990’s, captaining the Dolphins and winning a Best and Fairest before embarking on a successful coaching career at local level. Talented enough to compete at national level in Track and Field as a junior, Hamill’s journey to the AFL was a different one given he and his family spent a year in Canada on a family exchange trip when he was 14.
Selected by the Crows with Pick 30 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, Hamill developed at SANFL level in 2019 before displaying his exciting array of attributes for the Crows in 8 matches in 2020. Strong overhead, Hamill’s combination of a precise left foot and line breaking speed provides rebound from the last line for Adelaide that can help them build a strong game style in years to come.
A keen surfer, Hamill is studying a Science degree at UniSA.
