The 2015/16 season was Travis Dean’s first full time contract with Victoria and he started it in record breaking form. Off the back off a commanding 217 in a Futures League match against Western Australia, Dean was selected for his debut Shield Game against Queensland. When it seemed like every other first class batter in Australia was struggling with the pink ball in the day night shield match, Travis Dean hit a century in both innings.
In doing so Dean became the highest scorer ever on Shield debut and in a team where he was the only player not to have represented his country. Dean featured on the ground for the entire match against Queensland.
He scored a century in the 2015/16 Sheffield Shield winning final and was also a part of the team which won the 2016/17 Shield final. As of July 2018, Travis Dean signed for the Melbourne Stars in the BBL and for the 2018/19 Sheffield Shield Dean was named captain for Victoria and lead them to their title that season as one of the opening batsmen.
