Tommy is one of Australia’s most successful and highly regarded international street skateboarders of all time.
Tommy was born in Durban, South Africa where he lived until the age of 10. He then moved to New Zealand, which is where he was first introduced to the art of skateboarding. After immediately falling in love with the sport, Tommy fully invested himself into developing his craft. He moved to Brisbane seven years later, where he begun to market himself as A skateboarder by successfully competing in various skateboarding events. Tommy’s dominance grew in the skating industry; his influence and talent highlighted in his three successive Australian Skating Championship titles in the years 2011-2013. Furthermore, his three years of success was accordingly recognized through being name as the Lam Skate of The Year at the conclusion of 2013.
Using the momentum of his success-to-date, 2014 saw Tommy turn pro. This came as a result of countless podium finishes and pioneering several street-skating videos. After turning pro Tommy took it to the next level, gaining sponsorships with Skateboarding powerhouses such as DC Shoes, Independent Trucks and Stereo Skateboards. In 2016, Tommy qualified on the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) in Barcelona through the Pro Open. SLS is the highest League in skateboarding; Tommy made SLS history in his rookie year by taking a 3rd place finish in New Jersey.
Now based back home in Brisbane, Tommy has his sights set on making the official Australian Olympic team. His focus is on preparing for the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics and is also hungry for success in the SLS over the next few years. Outside of Skateboarding Tommy enjoys to go fishing and staying active with his fiancé Hannah.
Tommy is a long term member of the DC Skate team, he also officially joined the crew at Plan B in 2019.
