Tom Stewart as a Geelong born was drafted to Geelong Football Club with the 40th selection in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft as a mature age selection who has developed into a leader of the club.

Bio

Tom missed out on the 2011 Draft Stewart went back to his home club South Barwon in the Geelong Football League to play beside Cats legend Matthew Scarlett. Consistent performances and a strong work ethic saw Stewart be rewarded with Geelong VFL selection of which he has never looked back.

Known for his courageous acts, team first attitude and ability to play on all sizes Stewart made his debut in Round 1, 2017 against Fremantle and went on to be a surprise packet for the Cats playing 21 games including three finals. Stewart took his game to another level in season 2018 playing a further 22 games and making the All-Australian team in just his second season. Following his breakout 2018 season Stewart was elevated to the Cats Leadership group ahead of just his third season at the Cats.

Off the field Stewart is an assistant coach for Geelong’s AFLW team and loves spending time with his Golden Retriever Sunny
