Bio

Tom grew up in Lismore NSW. Due to his Mother being born in Dutch New Guinea, Tom and his Brother Ben both qualified to play for the Netherlands. Tom is currently married to Ebonie with a daughter Violet.

Tom was a member of the 2006 Australian Under 19 World Cup team finishes the tournament as Australia’s highest run scorer. After not being able to break into a very strong NSW team, South Australia offered Tom a contract ahead of the 2008/09 Summer which he accepted and moved to Adelaide. He made his First Class and List A debut’s in November 2008. Cooper made his mark the following summer in a game for the Prime Ministers XI against a touring West Indies side scoring 160 off only 120 balls. Whilst playing club cricket in Scotland in 2010, Cricket Netherlands approached him about the possibility of representing them which Tom agreed to. After playing domestically in the Netherlands Tom was handed his ODI debut which he scored 80 not out and got Man of the Match, he passed 50 in 5 of his first 7 ODI innings’ including his maiden 100. Cooper then went on to represent the Netherlands at the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. He went on to also represent Netherlands in the 2014 ICC T20 World Cup where he finished the tournament as the second highest run scorer. He was awarded the Melbourne Renegades MVP for his superb BBL7 campaign and was vice captain during BBL8 and was a key

Part to helping the Renegades lift the title. He finished the 2019 Sheffield Shield season as the second leading run scorer. Testimonials

Hes a really good game manager, especially batting, and has the ability to either get his team away to a flyer at the top in the Power Plays or be innovative in the middle overs and close out an innings,

(DARREN LEHMANN - BRISBANE HEAT COACH)

Tom has done a wonderful job representing the Gray Nicolls brand in Australia and the Netherlands throughout his career, he conducts himself in the correct way and is a good role model for the younger generations.
