Ned McHenry was selected by the Adelaide Crows with the 16th pick in the 2018 National Draft.
A Geelong native, McHenry is a competitive small forward with exceptional tackling pressure – he averaged 10.8 tackles a game during the AFL Under 18 National Championships. This pressure is built on repeat efforts and an elite running capacity which saw him win the Yo-Yo test at the 2018 Draft Combine, and has him earmarked for a run through the midfield.
McHenry was a standout in the 2018 draft pool due to his work ethic and attitude, traits that have made an immediate impact at the Crows. While he has spent his first year in the AFL playing in the Crows SANFL side, McHenry has impressed early and earned himself a contract extension until 2022.
