Former Captain of Melbourne Nathan is a family man who will always put others before himself. A Leader in all aspects on and off the field Nath is the "cool" dad of two beautiful kids.
Nathan Jones has two brothers one of which plays for St Kilda (Zak), Nathan was originally from the Mornington Peninsula where he met his future wife (Jerri Hewitt). He played for the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup during his junior career and was selected to play for Vic Metro in the 2005 AFL Under 18 Championships. He was named in the Under 18 All Australian team.
Nathan was drafted by the Melbourne Football Club with the 12th pick in the 2005 National AFL Draft. After debuting in round 16, 2006 against the Western Bulldogs Jones has gone on to be a stalwart of the Melbourne midfield. Highlighting his consistency Jones has placed top three in the clubs Best & Fairest five times between 2012-2017 including winning the award 2012, 2013 & 2014. Jones was appointed captain of the club in 2014 and held this role for 5 years alongside young star Jack Viney.
Nathan is an experienced home renovator with the help of his wife Jerri they enjoy the whole process, he is a father or two (Bobbi & Remi) and enjoys the occasional surf when he gets some free time
