The typical Gold Coast lifestyle is Matt Kuhnemann. He loves the beach and a surf in his downtime as well as travelling. On the field Kuhnemann is a talented left arm spinner who loves to compete.
Growing up on the Gold Coast, Kuhnemann played his cricket for The Southport School and Gold Coast Cricket club where he developed into a left arm spinner. In 2014, Kuhnemann represented Australia Under-19 and toured Sri Lanka. Kuhnemann collected 35 wickets in Queensland’s Premier Cricket competition in 2015-16, including a haul of 7/91 against Wynnum/Manly in February.
Kuhnemann was handed a rookie contact by Queensland for 2016-17 and was named in the Cricket Australia XI squad for the 2017–18 JLT One-Day Cup. He made his List A cricket debut in the 11th match of the tournament against New South Wales. He bowled five overs and took his first List A wicket, getting Kurtis Patterson out stumped. In the second innings he scored 14 runs off 13 balls batting 11th for Cricket Australia before he himself was stumped, ending their run chase 93 runs short. He made his Twenty20 debut for the Brisbane Heat in the 2018–19 Big Bash League season on 1 February 2019.
Kuhnemann is studying a Bachelor of Property at Bond University. He loves Surfing and spending time on the beach as well as travel.
