Bio

Growing up on the family dairy farm just outside Cohuna in northern Victoria, Hore played for Leitchville-Gunbower before graduating to the TAC Cup with the Bendigo Pioneers. Despite playing well and ultimately finishing runner-up in the Pioneers Best and Fairest, Hore didn’t hear his name called out come draft day at the end of his top age year. Hore made the move to the state capital to play with Collingwood’s VFL side, where the young defender continued to develop. Named Best and Fairest in back-to-back seasons of 2017 and 2018 as well as earning VFL Team of The Year selection. Melbourne pounced come draft time and selected the then 22 year old with pick 57 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.

Hore made his AFL debut in Round 1 2019, a season where he went on to play 14 games. Finding his place in the back six, Hore’s intercepting and disposal efficiency running out of the backline the key features of his game. Hore endured toe and quad injuries in 2020, with the timing preventing him from adding to his AFL games tally. His persistence and work rate saw him return ahead of his schedule late in the seasons to participate in the Demons’ scratch matches and with a clean bill of health, has signed a new one-year deal ahead of the 2021 campaign.

I thought if I kept chipping away at it and kept improving my game something would come one day and luckily it did
