Bio

During his 22 years behind the wheel, Mark Skaife has accomplished unparalleled motorsport achievements – five time Championship winner, six Bathurst 1000 victories, three Australian Drivers Championships.

On top of that, he broke the all-time record for Round/Race wins which stood for many years beyond his retirement.

Developing the concept and project managing the Supercars ‘Car of the Future’ program, Mark has led an influx of new manufacturers into the Championship including Nissan, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. He served as the inaugural Chairman of the Supercars Commission until the end of 2013.

In 2014, Mark was recognised for his contribution and achievements in Supercars by being inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside the sport’s great champions. Mark was the designer of the Supercars street circuits in Townsville, Sydney and the revised layout on the Gold Coast and New Zealand. He is also responsible for the successful Newcastle street race circuit.

Since retiring from driving, Mark has worked as a commentator and presenter for the Supercar series for both the Seven Network and Fox Sports. He remains an integral voice within the sport and a polished media performer and keynote speaker.

Mark’s motor industry credentials are impeccable. He is an active advisor to various companies and motoring groups regarding road safety, vehicle dynamics and driver training.

He is currently working with the executive team on the new Brisbane Auto Mall, a world class facility located adjacent to the Brisbane airport which will become the epicentre and showpiece of the Australian automotive industry once complete.

Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to motor racing and the community, Mark’s autobiography was released in 2020.

I love cars and I love racing, but I love the competition most. If we were racing lawn mowers tomorrow, I’d be on one. That’s what makes me continue to do what I do. – Mark Skaife
