Lachie Whitfield is a classy Medium Midfielder with rare awareness and decision-making ability complemented by skills either side with hands and feet.

Bio

Whitfield played in the TAC Cup for the Dandenong Stingrays. He won the Larke Medal as the best player at the 2012 AFL Under 18 Championships and growing up, he supported the Hawthorn Football Club he grew up in Melbournes Morning Peninsula and attended the Peninsula Grammar.

Whitfield was selected by the Giants with pick number one in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft. The former Dandenong Stingray is naturally gifted with speed, endurance and skill which saw him touted as the number 1 pick months before the National Draft Whitfield made his AFL debut in round one, 2013 and was nominated for the NAB AFL Rising Star award in his first season. Lachie has gone on to play over 100 games for the Giants predominately on a wing and in more recent times off half back. 2018 saw Whitfield’s most consistent season to date winning the Giants best and fairest award and being selected in the All-Australian team.

Away from football he is interested in following the European, his love for Liverpool is second to none and enjoys travelling & surfing in his off season.
