Kerryn
Peterson
(née Harrington)
A former Australian Basketballer, and now a captain of one of the AFL's oldest clubs, Kerryn Peterson has an eye on Premiership success as the Blues edge closer to their inaugural flag.

Bio

After representing Australia in underage FIBA Championships, including one as Captain, Peterson graduated to the WNBL and played for the Bendigo Spirit, while also attending the AIS.

With several years of WNBL competition under her belt, Peterson was approached by Carlton and subsequently signed as a Rookie in May 2017. She was elevated to the senior list in September that year.

Debuting in Round 1 of 2018, Peterson found a home for herself in defence, her height and athleticism allowing her to play on key forwards and create contests.

After a solid first season, Peterson had a break-out 2019 season which saw her selected in the All-Australian side at Half-Back and finish third in the Carlton Best and Fairest. Elevated to co-captain in 2020, Peterson backed up with a second consecutive All-Australian selection.

Peterson spends her time away from the football field as a physiotherapist and has a Border Collie named Daisy. She enjoys being involved in AFL and AFLW commentary, and in early 2022 she married Joel, a sports broadcaster himself.
