Originally from Shepparton, Impey played for the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup and represented Victoria Country at the 2013 AFL Under 18 Championships.
Impey was selected by the Port Adelaide football club with the 21st pick in the 2013 AFL draft. The speedy utility played 74 games with the power across four seasons and won the Gavin Wanganeen medal for best player under 21. Following the 2017 season Impey requested a trade to the Hawthorn football club. In his first season in the Brown and Gold Impey played all 24 games and added vital outside speed to the Hawks line up. Impey brought up his 100th game milestone in round one, 2019 against Adelaide where he collected 13 intercept possessions off half back.
Away from Football Jarman enjoys fashion & lifestyle but loves his motorbike and cars and spends time away working in a garage he also likes spending time with his Dog – Romeo the Cavoodle
