James Rose

Date of Birth

Unley Jets / Sturt / Sydney Swans

Drafted to the Swans with pick 37 in the 2014 National Draft, James Rose is a medium forward with excellent hands and an outstanding natural leap. He is a dynamic forward who is good on the lead, a penetrating kick and loves the physical side of the game. He made his AFL debut late in the 2015 season, kicked three goals, and played a final in just his second game of senior football.

Despite stringing together a few consistent seasons in the NEAFL, Rose struggled to break into the senior team due to the highly competitive environment the Sydney Swans fosters. However when given the opportunity, Rose brings forward pressure and aggression to the side and can be used around the ground due to his speed and physicality.

Rose has bided his time and developed as a player over the past few seasons, and with a changing of the guard at the Sydney Swans, is ready to cement his position in the Swans senior side.
