Former sprint king and world record holder Eamon Sullivan has continued his success post his illustrious swimming career.

Bio

Sullivan made his Australian debut as the swim team’s youngest member at the 2004 Athens Olympics, swimming in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay team which finished sixth.

Having recovered from a hip injury which derailed his 2005 World Championship dreams, he returned in 2006 to win a Commonwealth Gold and a Silver in relay action.

Sullivan’s personal development saw him emerge as an individual competitor capable of challenging the best in the world, smashing the World Record in the 50m and 100m freestyle in 2008.

At his second Olympics in Beijing, Sullivan broke that 100m world record twice but ultimately missed gold by just half a second to finish with two silvers and a bronze medal.

In 2010, Sullivan won gold in the 4 x 100m freestyle and 4 x 100m medley relays as well as a bronze in the 100m freestyle at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Then in 2011, he became a world champion when he and his team won gold in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay in Shanghai.

In 2012, he made the finals of both the 4 x 100m freestyle and the 50m freestyle, before ultimately retiring from the sport in mid-2014.

Out of the pool, Eamon has successfully combined two of his keen interests, cooking and the media.

He first proved to be a talent in the kitchen as a contestant on Network Ten’s Celebrity Masterchef, winning the first series in 2009.

Named ‘CLEO Bachelor of the Year’ in 2009, he also released his first cookbook, ‘Eamon’s Kitchen.’

Sullivan had dreamt of owning his own restaurant since high school and has successfully realised that dream, running a number of restaurants around Perth.

A sought-after Keynote speaker, Sullivan is a father of two.
