Billy Stretch was drafted to the Dees as a father-son selection with pick 42 in the 2014 National Draft. His father Steven was a former best and fairest winner at the club, and played 164 games over 8 years.
A crafty, outside wingman who boasts composure, skill and class, Stretch debuted in his first year at the club, and went on to play a total of 27 games over his first two seasons (2015 and 2016).
Stretch has long been regarded as one of the most professional young players at Melbourne, being praised for the constant strides he takes in improving his development and progress. This attitude has held him in good stead as he faced frustrating injuries over the last few seasons, but with those days behind him Stretch will be looking to solidify his spot in the side as the list around him develops.
