A utility who played a key role in defence in the Eagles Premiership team of 2006, Beau Waters was a tough and skilful player with strong leadership qualities. The vice-captainworked hard to come back from a serious elbow injury and enjoyed his best AFL season in 2012, earning All-Australian selection and passing the 100 game milestone.

Waters also won the AFLPA Robert Rose Award as the most courageous player in the game as voted by his peers.

Originally from West Adelaide, Waters was a corner-stone of the Eagles defensive line-up throughout one of the club’s most successful periods. Unfortunately the hard nosed defender succumbed to shoulder and knee injury at the beginning of 2015 which resulted in Beau retiring from AFL football.
