Aaron Finch is the current T20 and ODI captain for Australia. He also captains Melbourne Renegades in T20. Known for his batting, he can change the momentum of a match in a single over against both pace and spin.
Finch, from Colac in the South West of Victoria, is currently sitting second on the all-time Big Bash League leading run scorers with an average of 43.36 in the process. He wrote himself into the International records books with a devastating 156 off just 63 balls including 14 sixes against England in 2013.
Finch piled on an unbeaten 288 against New Zealand in a tour match in Blacktown in 2015-16 which is his highest first class score. He was a member of Victoria’s successful Sheffield Shield campaign in 2016/17 top scoring with 83 in the second innings.
Finch was a part of the successful 2015 Australian World Cup campaign and was granted Man of the Match in the opening game after smashing 135 in his world cup debut. He is a very in demand batsman in the shortest form of the game currently representing RCB in the IPL and Surrey in the NatWest Blast.
Finch made his test debut in 2018 making him a 3 format player for Australia. In 2019 Aaron was announced as the 2019 World Cup captain where he lead his team to a semi-final and he personally made 2 centuries in the tournament.
Finch was selected with Northern Superchargers first pick in the new “Hundred” competition and was announced as their captain for the tournament.
