As the 2019 event winner, McLaughlin rose from seventh to second in the Saturday race before capitalising on an unfortunate fuel-miscalculation from Shane van Gisbergen to win the second legon the Sunday.
Finishing in second place behind Jamie Whincup in Race 1, the overall weekend results ensured McLaughlin left Adelaide with the Championship lead as he aims for back-to-back-to-back Virgin Australia Supercars Championship titles.
