Puma coin flipper shines on biggest stage thanks to TLA

Round one of the 2022 AFL season was always going to be a big moment for the city of Melbourne but it was even bigger for one local celebrity.

Professional coin flipper ‘Mark Penny’ was selected and entrusted with coin tossing duties ahead of the traditional opening round clash between Carlton and Richmond. The biggest coin toss of his career so far.

Selected by the team apparel giants PUMA, Penny prepared for the big flip by detailing to TLA his journey of coin flipping and his routines on how he prepares for a big flip.

He arrived at the MCG to see more than seventy two thousand people in place to watch the coin toss before the start of play. As captains Dylan Grimes and Patrick Cripps shook hands in the centre of the MCG, Penny’s moment arrived.

As he approached the inner centre circle, the coin went up in a straight line as Grimes called tails.
The coin landed on heads and Cripps had won the toss, the first win of the night as Carlton stormed home to record a big opening round win. Maybe all thanks to the coin tossing ability of Penny who became Melbourne and Puma’s newest superstar.
