Medals and records brokenin the Tokyo pool: Adam Peaty, Duncan Scott, Tom Dean & Freya Anderson

TLA’s champion GB swimmers Adam Peaty, Duncan Scott, Tom Dean and Freya Anderson have shone on the world stage, rewriting records and inspiring millions at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Peaty successfully defended his Olympic crown to win the 100m Breaststroke, creating history as the first British swimmer to retain Olympic gold in the pool.

In the second half of the Tokyo programme, Adam played an integral part of the gold medal-winning 4×100 Mixed Medley Relay team and alongside Duncan, winning silver in the 4×100 Men’s Medley Relay team.

An incredible performance in the mixed medley heats saw GB set a new Olympic Record, only for them to set a new world record in the final and take gold.

Duncan Scott too shone in Tokyo, becoming the first British athlete across all sports to win four medals at the one Olympics.

After winning silver in the 200m Freestyle, Duncan Scott added to his medal haul with another Silver in the 200m Individual Medley, gold in the men’s 4×200 Freestyle Relay and silver in the 4×100 Men’s Medley Relay, setting European Records in the latter of the two events.

With four medals in Tokyo, combined with his two silver medals from Rio, he is now the most decorated British Olympic swimmer of all time.

Fellow TLA athlete Freya Anderson, swam an excellent freestyle anchor leg in the heats of the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay and also received a gold medal. A brilliant result for her first Olympic Games.
