The Adelaide Crows cemented their place as the dominant team of the first era of AFLW, defeating Melbourne by 13 points at the Adelaide Oval to win their third Premiership in the first six seasons of the competition.
Led by TLA’s own Erin Phillips, Anne Hatchard and Ebony Marinoff, the Crows finished the home and away season atop the ladder, earning hosting rights at the Adelaide Oval once they progressed to the Grand Final.
Meeting Melbourne Demons in the decider, it was the Crows who got the jump on their opposition and held on to a 13-point win in front of their home fans. TLA’s Anne Hatchard saluted with Best Ground honours on the day, starring with 26 disposals and six tackles.

It was a successful season for many TLA Talent, with three of TLA’s own making the 2022 AFLW All-Australian Team. Ebony Marinoff earned her fourth All Australian gong while her Crows teammate Anne Hatchard and Carlton captain Kerryn Harrington were both recognized with their second All -Australian selections.
It’s set to be a busy and quick turnaround for all involved in the AFLW with the announcements that season seven will begin in August 2022 with an expanded 18-team competition.
TLA and former Crows star Erin Phillips shocked with the move of the off-season, signing with crosstown rivals Port Adelaide as their inaugural signing. A special homecoming for Phillips after her father Greg played 343 games and won eight premierships for the Port Magpies.
