Cricket on the Thames

Aussie cricketers showing the poms how it's done.

01 Jul 2013

In 2013 Cricket Australia launched their back-to-back Ashes campaigns and created history by playing the first ever game of Cricket on the iconic Thames River. With the Tower Bridge overhead Michael Clarke, Shane Watson, Chris Rogers, James Faulkner and Mitchell Starc took to the unique cricket pitch to help send a reminder to Australian fans to register with the Australian Cricket Family for priority access to tickets.

TLA coordinated this entire event both from an event logistical point of view and PR perspective. The six month long project was a complex procedure due to the international nature of the activity, however TLA proudly executed all elements seamlessly and with minimal fuss. The PR coverage generated was global with key UK outlets covering the exercise and all major Australian media running editorial coverage of the stunt across print, TV, radio and online outlets.
