Given his original AFL opportunity by the West Coast Eagles as part of the NSW Scholarship scheme in 2007, Davis returned to the AFL system in 2016 as a Gold Coast Sun.
Delisted by the Eagles at the end of 2009 after two years and 14 games with the club, Davis took his game to new heights after joining Swan Districts in the WAFL. As a half forward and midfielder, Davis kicked over 20 goals in four consecutive seasons. In 2015, he averaged 21 disposals and six tackles a game, alongside collecting the Simpson Medal in WA’s win over South Australia after a 25 possessions, five goal performance.
With Suns looking to complement their developing list with some readymade talent, Davis was nabbed at the 2015 NAB AFL Rookie Draft. He duly delivered, playing 19 games, kicking 15 goals and sitting in the Top five at the Suns for tackles and goals as a hard working forward.
