Ned McHenry was selected by the Adelaide Crows with the 16th pick in the NAB AFL Draft.
McHenry is a competitive small forward with exceptional tackling pressure, built on repeat efforts and an elite running capacity. This was showcased at this year’s Draft Combine, winning the Yo-Yo test with 22.2 and finishing equal fifth in the 2km time trial.
His work ethic is almost unmatched in this year’s draft pool, evident in his tackling numbers. At this year’s AFL Under-18 Championships representing Vic Country, he ranked No. 1 for tackles with an astonishing 10.8 per game.
The 18-year-old averaged 21 disposals and five clearances across eight games for the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup and is a member of the AFL Academy.
