Nathan Jones was drafted by the Melbourne Football Club with the 12th pick in the 2005 National AFL Draft. After debuting in round 16, 2006 against the Western Bulldogs Jones has gone on to be the stalwart of the Melbourne midfield.
Highlighting his consistency Jones has placed top three in the clubs Best & Fairest five times between 2012-2017 including winning the award 2012, 2013 & 2014.
Jones was appointed captain of the club in 2014 and is still continuing in the role alongside young star Jack Viney where the two will look to lead the Demons further into September.
If anyone is to be rewarded with a Premiership medal it is Jones who has now played 264 games for the Demons and has experienced the highs and lows of AFL football.
