Mitch Riordan made history when he was selected by the Gold Coast Suns in the first ever AFL mid-season draft. After the disappointment of not being drafted in the 2018 Riordan got straight back to work and elected to remain at the Dandenong Stingrays as a 19 year old.
Riordan was selected as captain of the Stingrays and started the 2019 season strongly, averaging 20 disposals and 4.7 tackles a game. Riordan is a competitive inside midfielder that will add strength around the ball. Known for his work ethic, character and leadership, Mitch is a great selection for the Suns.
