Mark Hutchings was drafted to the St. Kilda Football Club in the 2009 Rookie Draft, but delisted at the end of 2010 without having played a game of senior football. Hutchings was not deterred and set about getting himself back on an AFL list, succeeding when the Eagles selected him in the 2012 National Draft.
Hutchings debuted in Round 15 of 2013, playing out the rest of the season and cementing a spot in the side ever since. Tasked with tagging some of the leagues best players, Hutchings also finds plenty of the ball himself to be a damaging match-up.
One of Hutchings best games came in the 2018 Grand Final, where he kept Steele Sidebottom to 14 disposals after he had 41 the week before. The Eagles held on to win the Grand Final by 5 points, adding a Premiership Medal to Hutchings trophy cabinet.
