Kyle Langford is a product of the Northern Knights in the TAC CUP. Langford was selected with pick 17 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft by Essendon after playing an outstanding u18 National Championship series with Vic Metro. Kyle’s ability to read the play, cleanly dispose of the ball as well as his running ability through traffic appears his greatest strengths. Playing primarily on either the half-forward or half-back line, Kyle can impose himself at both ends of the ground with his attacking game style that breaks opposition lines.
Kyle made his debut for Essendon in round 5 of the 2015 season against St Kilda, showcasing all of his assets and skills. He then went on to play a further 7 games for the season. The following year, Kyle added to his senior game tally, playing an additional 17 games. These games saw Kyle play in the forward line, where he kicked 12 goals, the midfield and even occasional stints in the backline. Kyle finished the 2016 season averaging 5 marks and 3 inside 50’s per game.
Langford managed the six senior appearances in 2017, kicking 4 goals and averaging 13.7 disposals and 3.2 tackles a game. Langford will enter his fourth season as a Bomber in 2018 and will look to further develop his game and find a permanent and consistent role in the senior side.
