Jordan Dawson was recruited by the Sydney Swans during the 2015 NAB AFL Draft. The durable 190cm athlete can play in a number of roles, including a key position target at either end of the ground as well as in the midfield. His ability to win the ball both aerially and on the ground is highly impressive, making him eligible to play almost anywhere.
In his first season with the Swans, Dawson played as a lead-up forward. After only playing 12 games for the year, he displayed great talent and excitement, kicking 18 goals. His 2017 campaign was further improvement and development as the young and aspiring footballer made his senior debut for the Swans in Round 3 against Collingwood. Here, Dawson collected 10 disposals and 3 tackles. The South-Australian has since played NEAFL however has made several appearances in the midfield. His outing against Hornsby saw him collect 35 disposals, 4 goals and 11 inside 50s. His ability to run in the midfield with his size and strength is a real credit and x-factor to his game and will serve him and his teammates well in the coming times.
Dawson will now look forward to an uninterrupted pre-season where he will look to establish himself physically ahead of an exciting 2018 season.
