An enduring figure in Australian First Class cricket across a 15-year span, Darren Berry set a new benchmark for wicketkeepers at domestic level. His ability is underlined by his ownership of the World Record for the most number of runs scored against (2,447) without conceding a bye in his debut season. And if that wasn’t enough he become Victoria’s games record holder in Shield and one-day cricket and the first player ever to reach 600 Shield dismissals.

Having hung up the gloves, the qualified Physical Education Teacher worked with Fox Sports as a commentator and analyst on domestic cricket. He has also called AFL football on the radio with both MMM and K-Rock.

On the coaching front after being assistant coach for Victoria he was appointed Coaching Director of the Rajasthan Royals and alongside his close friend Shane Warne led them to victory in the lucrative Indian Premier league.

The South Australian Redbacks came calling in 2011 and Darren was appointed as Head Coach of both the SA team and also the Adelaide Strikers BBL. His success as a coach continued securing both the T/20 and One-day domestic titles during his 4-year tenure.

Darren is no assistant coach at the Sydney 6’ers in the Big Bash League.
