D’Arcy Short is a hard hitting opening batsman and left arm leg spin bowler. He first played cricket for Western Australia in 2011 before re-establishing himself in grade cricket before making his mark with the Hobart Hurricanes ahead of BBL7.

He rose to prominence being the leading run scorer in BBL7 and BBL8 which lead to Short earning an IPL contract and a T20 and ODI debut with Australia.

In the 2018/19 JLT One Day tournament for Western Australia, Short broke the List A record for the highest score in the tournament history hitting 257 and falling just 11 runs short of the world record.
