Caleb Marchbank was selected by the GWS Giants with the 6th pick in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft. The versatile defender managed five games in his debut season breaking into a highly skilled GWS backline. Unfortunately 2016 was plagued with injuries which saw just two AFL appearances, at the conclusion of the 2016 season Marchbank was traded back to his home state to seek more opportunities with the Carlton Football Club.
Marchbank made an immediate impact in his first outing for the blues collecting five intercept marks and thirteen intercept possessions highlighting his football smarts. Marchbank went on to play 16 games in season 2017 and earned a NAB rising star nomination in round 6.
The beginning of 2018 was once again injury interrupted which saw Marchbank play just 12 games. 2019 again saw Marchbank only manage 13 games through injury, but some strong performances excites blues fans for the 2020 season which will hopefully see the Blues rise up the ladder.
