Mets’ Jose Reyes: Bangs out three hits Sunday

Reyes went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run in Sunday’s Grapefruit League game against the Braves.

The 33-year-old hadn’t done much this spring after hitting .278/.316/.389 in 18 at-bats for the Dominican Republic in the WBC, but Reyes has now picked up five hits in his last two games and seems to be rounding into form just in time for Opening Day. With David Wright (shoulder) out indefinitely, Reyes will be the Mets‘ starting third baseman and leadoff hitter to begin the season.
