Baseball City, the largest interactive Spring Training Fan Festival and only of its kind touched down in Scottsdale, AZ in 2015. An epicenter for all-things-baseball, Baseball City had a host of interactive programs, clinics, brand activation platforms and appearances by current and former MLB players as part of the two day celebration that kicked off Cactus League play. Twenty five players appeared, including Hall of Famers Andre Dawson, Rollie Fingers, Orlando Cepeda and Gaylord Perry, as well as current All-Stars AJ Pollock, Michael Brantley, Scott Kazmir and Billy Butler.
Over 20,000 fans attended, which was more than triple the first year in Phoenix, and exceeded expectations as a whole for property in just its second year. Media exposure for the event was also vast, highlighted by an MLB Network feature on MLB Tonight, in addition to Univision TV & Radio, Baseball America, Cox Communications, AZ Central Sports, and KTAR Radio, which all provided coverage to a wide international audience. Premium markets, such as Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, also provided coverage in outlets that included CSN Chicago, Fox Sports Radio, ESPN.com and ESPN Radio.
Sponsors of the event were highlighted by the City of Scottsdale, Baseball America, Pepsi, LIDS, and KIND Snacks.
