TLA worked closely with OPSM and their creative agency to bring to life the tallest standing and most impressive activation at Federation Square during the 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final Week Live Site.
TLA managed the build and on-site activation of what was the OPSM Giant Mark, a 10m high structure encasing a suspended AFL football player taking a mark. It was made out of 2,984 miniature footballs suspended on hundreds of strands of wire connected at both top and bottom. The structure took 450 hours off-site to pre-assemble and 48 straight hours on-site to build.
At 12.30pm on the day before the 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final, the 2,984 balls dropped into the pit below where fans streamed through and won thousands of great prizes. From Monday – Thursday fans would line up to play one of the branded OPSM hand-eye coordination machines for their chance to walk away with a limited edition OPSM Sherrin.
Throughout the week, TLA managed media appearances with OPSM’s brand ambassadors Matthew Pavlich and Jude Bolton, as well as Trent Cotchin, Shaun Burgoyne and Steve Pavlich (father of Matthew), to promote the OPSM Giant Mark. This work included interviews on Today Show, Sunrise, News Ltd, Channel Ten News and Triple M – Hot Breakfast. Overall, nearly
$1.4m in PR value was achieved across the week.
