NSW engaged TLA to run two major events for their community engagement program as part of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. Those events were The Home Ground Cricket Tour and the Sydney Pop Up Events & SCG Fan Zone.
Home Ground Cricket Tour:
The HGCT was a celebration of cricket, community and sporting culture, whilst showcasing the best NSW has to offer, as the state prepared to play host to the world’s biggest sporting event of 2015.
The tour featured a travelling CWC Museum with items donated by the Bradman Museum and SCG Museum respectively, a LED truck with an interactive virtual cricket game, broadcast viewings of BBL|04 and classic CWC moments, cricket clinics run by NSW best JPS coaches plus appearances by some Aussie Cricketing legends including Doug Walters, Andy Bichel, Jimmy Maher and many more.
Across the three month tour, 28 regional NSW towns were visited bringing the excitement of the CWC to the local communities.
Pop Up Events:
Destination NSW engaged TLA to deliver a series of activities and events across Sydney to promote the matches taking place at the Sydney Cricket Ground as part of the ICC Cricket World Cup tournament down under in 2015.
The Pop Up events were developed as part of the lead up to four matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The goal was to engage Sydney siders and give them a taste of the excitement on offer as the ICC Cricket World Cup hit Sydney in 2015. The events toured the Sydney Metropolitan area visiting 10 prominent locations across the city during the tournament as well as being the main feature of the Fan Zone at the SCG CWC matches.
Mini Live Sites were setup featuring a double decker bus with a big screen on the side that aired classic World Cup matches, player appearances with heroes from the various competing teams including Brett Lee, Michael Vaughn, Shaun Pollock and Ian Bishop, ticket giveaway and, cultural performances from the competing countries.
