TLA helped adidas build their association with some of the world’s best tennis players on the eve of the 2012 Australian Open by creating a game of tennis with a difference down one of Melbourne’s iconic laneways.
Collingwood’s Dale Thomas and Melbourne Storm fullback Billy Slater took on international stars Ana Ivanovic, Caroline Wozniacki, Gilles Simon and Jo Tsonga in a funky game of tennis featuring breakdancers and a DJ. ESP produced a video of the event which will form part of a year long global promotional campaign by adidas with the world’s best tennis players around major tournaments.
Local TV networks performed live crosses and ran pre-recorded stories from the event, which was also attended by global media and tennis bloggers. Furthermore, the video was successfully seeded with key online tennis and news websites and generated over 54,000 views on youtube.
