Astros shortstop Carlos Correa and fiancée appear on Today Show to discuss engagement
Astros shortstop Carlos Correa and his fiancée appeared on the Today Show Friday morning to discuss their World Series engagement.
Correa and Daniella Rodriguez, Miss Texas USA 2016, appeared over live video for an interview with Today’s Carson Daly.
Correa surprised Rodriguez with an engagement ring Wednesday night following his team’s World Series win over the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1.
“I was waiting for the right time to do it,” Correa told Daly Friday morning.
The ring has a custom pear-shaped diamond surrounded by a diamond halo and a split shank, according to Jordan Dubin, co-owner of Dubin’s Fine Jewelry in the Galleria area. Dubin believes the ring cost Correa anywhere from $100,000 to $400,000, which is well above the $6,500 national average price for an engagement ring.
“It was something I never imagined,” Rodriguez told Daly.
