So it’s fitting that the Houston Astros star is making it possible for kids in the city to wake up in new beds.
Correa is teaming up with the Houston Children’s Charity and Texas Mattress Makers to donate 500 new mattresses, frames and linens to children affected by Hurricane Harvey.
All recipients have been previously identified and registered.
The 21-year-old All-Star will be on hand for the donation at Texas Mattress Makers, along with the young recipients and ABC13’s legendary anchor Dave Ward.
Monday’s distribution follows a previous donation made earlier this month in the days following Harvey’s impact.
So far, Houston Children’s Charity has raised about $300,000 of its $500,000 goal for the Hurricane Harvey Children’s Relief Fund.
Correa is lending his name behind an online crowdfund to help young Houstonians. You can make a donation through Carlos Correa Hurricane Harvey Relief on YouCaring.
All proceeds go toward putting kids affected by the catastrophe into beds. The combined organizations hope to put 5,000 children in beds.
